Introduction
Hey everyone, welcome to my YouTube channel again. Lisa Tamati here, and today we're going to be doing a session on an app that I've developed called Your Health Compass - what it's all about, why you should listen to this, and how it's going to help you with your health going forward.
Most people don't really discover their health risks until something has already gone wrong, right? If you think about how modern healthcare works, it's really largely reactive. You wait for symptoms, you wait for blood markers to cross a certain threshold, or you wait for a diagnosis.
But most chronic diseases don't start at diagnosis. They develop quietly over years or even decades, influenced by things like lifestyle patterns, early symptoms that people dismiss, environmental factors, family history, and genetics. And yet most people are never given a simple way to understand their personal risk landscape before disease develops.
That gap is exactly why I built Your Health Compass.
My Personal Story
I have a mom who had some horrific medical history, and it's what really put me into this longevity and health optimization space to begin with. I have a history before that as a professional ultra-endurance athlete who spent 25 years racing in the world's toughest endurance events all around the planet, covering over 70,000 kilometers in that time and being very focused on high performance.
But when my mom suffered from an aneurysm and later brain cancer - and she wasn't meant to survive either of those - I went headlong into the longevity and health optimization world. This is really personal for me. This is about finding out those things that I wish I had known way back then so that I could have prevented some of the things that have happened to my dear mom from happening.
Why I Built Your Health Compass
I wanted something that was:
Science-based, not speculative
Did not require wearables or tracking
Did not store or sell your personal health data (that's really important)
Didn't lock people into subscriptions
We all know there are so many subscriptions out there, and that really makes it hard to do some of these things. Most importantly, it helped people know where to focus, because prevention isn't about doing everything - it's about doing the right things for your specific risk profile.
I've spent years studying genetics. It's something I do in my practice, and this is also something that can be really helpful for people in identifying their specific risk. But this is a much easier first step that you can do.
What Your Health Compass Is
Your Health Compass is a one-time questionnaire-based health risk assessment that helps you understand your relative risk across 11 major chronic diseases using scientifically validated lifestyle and symptom questionnaires. There's no diagnosis, no medical claims - just early insight and then direction. And then you can do something with that information.
What It Is and What It Isn't
Let me be really clear about what the app actually does.
What it IS:
A guided assessment using validated questionnaires
Evaluates lifestyle factors, symptoms, and risk patterns
Covers 11 major diseases
Generates clear downloadable reports
A one-time purchase at $19.99 US (not a subscription - do it once, it's yours, and that's it)
What it is NOT:
Not a diagnostic tool
Does not replace medical care
Does not track you over time
Does not store your personal health data
Does not sell or share information
You complete the questionnaires, you receive your results, you download the report, and that's it. Then you can do whatever you want with that really crucial information.
The 11 Disease Categories
Your Health Compass assesses risks across 11 diseases that account for the majority of chronic illness burden worldwide. I want to be very specific about what this app is based on, because this is where credibility really matters.
Your Health Compass does not invent its own scoring system. It uses existing clinically validated screening and risk questionnaires that are already used in medical, research, and public health settings - simply brought together in one place for you.
1. Parkinson's Disease
Unfortunately on the rise and very common. I work with quite a number of people with this. This is an early screening tool based on the MDS-UPDRS Part 1B plus recognized prodromal markers. It screens for early non-motor and motor features that can appear years before diagnosis, such as subtle movement changes, sleep disturbances, and early neurological symptoms.
It's not diagnostic, but it's designed to flag early patterns that warrant awareness or further discussion with your doctor or clinician. If you come back with a score that says high risk, you'll want to go and talk to your doctor. If you come back with a score with low risk, it looks like you're okay.
If you have a family history of Parkinson's, it would behoove you to actually do this assessment, which will take you just a couple of minutes. Then you can know, "Okay, yeah, I've got a high risk factor. I need to take this further."
2. Type 2 Diabetes Risk
This uses the official Finnish Diabetes Risk Score, one of the most widely used diabetes risk tools globally. It estimates 10-year risk factors based on age, waist circumference, and a few other things.
3. Breast Cancer Risk (for women)
This assessment estimates the 5-year and lifetime risk of invasive breast cancer using models based on the National Cancer Institute.
4. Cardiovascular Disease Risk
This uses the Framingham Risk Score, which estimates 10-year risk of heart attack or stroke based on age, cholesterol, blood pressure, smoking status, and diabetes.
5. Multiple Sclerosis - Early Signs and Screening
This tool looks for common early and prodromal symptoms - meaning what's happening in the body. The prodrome is early warning signs, in other words. So neurological symptoms, sensory changes, fatigue patterns, that type of thing.
6. Lupus Screening
One of the autoimmune diseases, looking for immune-related symptoms and systemic features there.
7. Asthma
Standard asthma screening.
8. Depression Screening
Using the PHQ-9, which screens for depressive symptoms severity over the past few weeks.
9. COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
Lung health screening.
10. Anxiety Screening
Using the GAD-7 (Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7).
11. Osteoporosis Risk
This one I have a personal passion about as well, having had a mom who had a broken hip a couple of years ago because of the osteoporosis that she'd suffered from. Early detection of this is really important.
How It Works
You'll get a risk score and a report you can download. You can do all of the questionnaires, or you can do some of them. You can do some on one day and come back to that same website and finish it off if you like. Do all of them as you wish. Then you download the reports for that, and then you'll know exactly: do you have a low risk, a medium risk, or a high risk? And then you can do something about that. You can go and investigate further if you need to.
Each one of these questionnaires is validated on its own, and Your Health Compass simply brings them together into one clear, accessible assessment so people can understand their risk landscape without needing multiple appointments or tests.
Why These Tools Work
These tools are widely used because they:
Detect risk patterns before disease is diagnosable
Integrate lifestyle, symptoms, and history
Are especially valuable for prevention and early awareness
And that's what this is all about: Prevention, prevention, prevention.
The Scientific Validity
Let's talk the science, because this matters. The questionnaires used in Your Health Compass are validated based on tools that have been:
Used in clinical research
Applied in population health studies
Correlated with disease outcomes over time
Validated questionnaires are widely used because they capture patterns that are not visible in single one-off labs. You're not going to capture something in a blood test, for example, when it's a one-off. When you can get these patterns over time using lifestyle, symptoms, and history, then you can really capture this early important data that could save you.
They integrate lifestyle, symptoms, and behavior, and they're especially valuable before disease is diagnosable. This is not AI, and it's not guessing, and it's not symptom Googling. It's structured, evidence-based risk stratification.
Who This Is Especially Important For
This tool is particularly valuable if you:
Have a family history of chronic disease
Know you carry a genetic risk factor
Have lifestyle risk factors that you want to understand
Feel mostly healthy but you want clarity - you want to be ahead of the game
Want to prevent disease rather than react to it
Genetics loads the gun, but lifestyle pulls the trigger. If you know that, then this is something that you'll want to do. Your Health Compass helps you see where that trigger may be forming, and you can do something about it.
What You Can Do With the Information
This is really where the power is. Your report helps you:
Prioritize lifestyle changes
Know which systems deserve attention
Ask better questions to your doctors
Avoid unnecessary worry when the risk is low
Focus prevention efforts efficiently
It turns vague concern into actionable awareness.
Privacy, Simplicity, and Cost
No ongoing tracking
No personal health data stored
No subscription
One-time cost: $19.99 US
Downloadable report that you own
You shouldn't have to trade your privacy to understand your health, I don't think.
Take Action
If you believe that prevention matters, that awareness beats reaction, that clarity reduces anxiety, and that privacy matters, then Your Health Compass is really built for you.
You can take the assessment right now, download your report, and use it as a guide for smarter health decisions now and in the future.
I'm going to put the link down below, but it's: yourhealthcompass.lovable.app (that's all one word - lovable is spelled L-O-V-A-B-L-E).
Check it out. Go and see what it's all about. If you like this type of content, please do like and subscribe to the channel. Share this with your friends if you think it's valuable as well.
I want to thank you for taking your time being preventative with your health and not being reactive, and being ahead of the game. Wishing you all the best health for this year, and we'll see you again soon.

I am getting my mojo back with regards to my health and running after treatment for breast cancer, I connected with Lisa as I was looking for positive influences from people who are long distance runners and understand our mindset. Lisa’s podcasts have been a key factor in getting me out of a negative space where I allowed others limiting beliefs to stop me from following my heart and what I believe is right for me. After 18 months of being in cancer recovery mode I wanted to get out of the cancer mindset and back to achieving goals that had been put aside. Listening to Pushing The Limits has put me onto other great podcasts, and in the process I have learnt so much and am on a pathway to a much better place with my mindset and health. Thanks so much Lisa for doing what you do and always being you.
